We manage Pay Per Click campaigns at Yahoo, Google, MSN and Adbrite. PPC is really the only way to guarantee traffic. It doesn't guarantee conversion to sales, registrations, etc. but it is the best starting point if you have the budget.
What Should The PPC Budget Be?
Well, that depends on the business, the niche that your service or product might fall into, or your overall budget for advertising.
We find that there are two types of scenarios that work best:
- Month to Month, which allows a business to start smaller and to reinvest additional money each month.
- Campaign-Based, which allows for a fixed amount of time, usually centered around a fixed marketing initiative, such as a coupon.
Campaign-based PPC scenarios work best for retail companies, because the advertisements are often time-sensitive and the rewards are easy to understand.
Month to Month PPC scenarios are excellent for service oriented websites or in conjunction with a Campaign-based scenario.
Doing an email blast is also an effective supplement to a PPC campaign.
How Much Does it Cost?
We have a minimum montly retainer to manage PPC Campaigns that depends on the amount of hours required, any landing pages that need to be designed, connection to email tools, etc.
